THE Football League has no plans to launch an investigation into Accrington Stanley’s ownership situation, a spokesman has confirmed.

Stanley held a board meeting on Saturday night to discuss the club’s continuing ownership struggle, with Dave O’Neill still waiting to finalise his purchase of Eric Whalley’s stake in the club.

Football League head of communications John Nagle said: “This is an internal issue for the club, as long as it continues to comply with league regulations to declare anyone who owns more than 10 per cent. They have complied with those regulations and have kept us informed.”
