WHAT a turn up for the books – two late goals on Saturday and both of them were scored by Stanley!

I have a small amount of sympathy for Stevenage fans as the boot has been on the other foot on more than one occasion this season.

Mistakes in the last 10 minutes have cost the Reds valuable points.

It must be said that with 88 minutes gone and losing 2-0 to an average Boro side, even the most optimistic Stanley fan would have struggled to imagine the final score.

But as it happens the team has started to develop a strong never-say-die attitude and, as with the last home game against Morecambe, a battling style of play that can sit well with our fast passing approach.

The table has us currently sitting in 16th place, nine points off the play-offs but with three games in hand on some of the teams above us.

I will be a lot happier when we have 50 points on the board and only then will I look towards the play-offs with any serious hope.

John Coleman and Jimmy Bell have the strongest squad ever assembled at the Crown Ground and whatever happens between now and the end of the season I just hope we can be in a financial position to keep this fantastic squad together.
