NELSON manager Graham Haworth has revealed his side are taking a trip into the unknown tonight for the visit to high flying FC United.
Nelson played the breakaway Manchester United team three times last season and manager Haworth admitted by the time the campaign came to a close he had almost figured out how to get the better of them.
But after a flurry of summer signings he said Karl Marginson's men are a completely different outfit.
Haworth said: "I thought we had sussed them out but now we're going completely into the dark."
Despite drawing a blank in a goalless draw at home to Newcastle Town on Saturday, Haworth is hoping he can rely on the goals of Neil Chapman, who was blighted by injuries, illness and suspensions last season.
He added: "On Saturday he could have had a hat-trick but their goalkeeper pulled off some amazing saves.
"It's like having a brand new player for us."
New goalkeeper Bobby Harris, who signed from Great Harwood, misses tonight's game.
Chris Ridehalgh is suspended after picking up five bookings last season and Lee Scholes is unavailable.
