BOURNEMOUTH manager Eddie Howe, who has been linked with the Burnley job, has this afternoon confirmed that he has decided to stay with the Cherries.
Howe has been a name the Clarets have considered ever since Brian Laws' departure as boss two weeks ago, although it was Crystal Palace and Charlton who made the 33-year-old firm job offers over the weekend.
Howe was in meetings with Bournmouth yesterday and this morning to decide his future, and he has now announced that he has opted to stay at Dean Court.
“We’ve thought long and hard about it but it was very difficult to leave the players and the fantastic supporters here,” said Howe.
“I thank everyone for their interest and it certainly meant a great deal to me that other clubs were showing an interest in myself and Jason.
“I certainly wish those clubs all the best.”
Cherries chairman Eddie Mitchell told the Bournemouth Echo: "It’s a good coup for us to keep him.
"We want to get on and achieve more.
"One day, Eddie will move on and I think, probably, he will outgrow the club."
