DAVID Dunn has insisted that he will be fit for Blackburn Rovers’ trip to face Bolton Wanderers on Sunday – but he has admitted that he is unlikely to be able to play 38 games a season any more.

The 30-year-old has been blighted by muscle injuries in recent years and has had a stop-start season this time around, although he did score his first goal of the campaign in Saturday’s 3-0 win over Wolves.

Dunn had to be withdrawn after 52 minutes as a precaution but says he will be available for the weekend trip to the Reebok, where he scored in a 2-0 triumph last season.

“I’ll be fine, it’s just a little niggle,” he said.

“It was a little bit of a precaution. We were 2-0 up, job done, so there was no point in risking things.

“I felt my leg, there was a little bit of pain on the left side.

"Unfortunately I am one of those players who is going to pick up little niggles.

"If I can play 20 to 25 games a season – although of course I would like to play 38 Premier League games – hopefully I can do something different in them.”
