BURNLEY players were yesterday given the full day off to unwind and relax after comfortably routing Selezione Verona XI 7-0.
Instead of gruelling sessions in unbearable heat at their Sport Hotel Veronello training base, almost all the Clarets squad cleared off in various directions.
For some it was a chance to indulge in a spot of culture, with Verona, Bardolino and even Venice, an hour-long journey away, all being targeted.
Others seized the opportunity to cool off at the region's popular outdoor water park.
But a handful of players stayed behind at camp headquarters, rather than venture out, and milled around the hotel's swimming pool.
