Former world superbike champion Carl Fogarty dusted off his gloves and helmet for another appearance at the Lancashire Twin-Shock Grand National meeting at Clayton-le-Dale, near Blackburn.
And although he didn't win, he finished a close second to Mark Silvester in the veterans race after an epic battle with Scotsman Jim Baxter and Kevin Smith.
Conditions were tough with scorching temperatures and a rock-hard track for the 100 riders to contend with.
Organiser Ken Sourbutts, from the Lancashire Twin-Shock Club, ran a two-day event, incorporating the War of the Roses' race, featuring 12 riders from Lancashire and Yorkshire Winners: Twin Shock A: Alan Evans; Twin-Shock B: John Iddon; Veteran: Mark Silvester; Modern: Roy Prescott.
