BLACKBURN Rovers goalkeeper Jason Brown is desperate for an end to his Ewood Park frustration – and admits it would be a ‘privilege’ to secure a permanent move to Leeds United.

The Welsh international has just extended his loan stay at Elland Road for another month and is line to make his first start of the season at Middlesbrough on October 16.

Brown, who was allowed on loan to Leeds after falling behind Mark Bunn as Paul Robinson’s reserve at Rovers, made his debut as a substitute last weekend in the 2-1 defeat to Ipswich.

Injuries to Kasper Schmeichel and Shane Higgs now look likely to give Brown his big chance in West Yorkshire as he looks to kick start his career that has stalled during his time at Rovers.

He said: “My contract at Blackburn finishes at the end of the season and I made it clear to them in the summer that I was very much looking for another club.

“I am excited to be at Leeds on loan. It would be a great club maybe to come back to if all goes well.

“I am working as hard as I can in training and if I get another opportunity in the first team I want to make the most of it.

"As good a club as Blackburn are, they don’t get crowds of 25,000, even for the visit of Manchester United, so it is a privilege to be at Leeds.”

Brown moved to Ewood Park in 2006 from Gillingham, just a month after making his debut for Wales in a friendly against Trinidad and Tobago.

He made his debut in October 2006, saving a penalty as a second half substitute against Wigan, but was made to wait until September 2008 for his next Premier League appearance.

Brown’s first team opportunities have been severely limited due to the consistency and form of first Brad Friedel and now Paul Robinson.
