Burnley's teenage midfielder Joseph O'Neill has been handed a debut call-up to the Republic of Ireland U17 squad for a tournament in Hungary.
The 16-year-old first-year apprentice, who can operate on the left side of midfield or as a striker, joined the Clarets this summer from Dublin's Home Farm, the same team from which Burnley spotted first-teamer Chris McCann.
O'Neill will head out with the Irish party to Eastern Europe later this month for the 26th Hungarian International Tournament, which takes place from August 2-5.
The eight-team event sees the Republic face their Serbia and Montenegro counterparts, with the winners meeting either the Czech Republic or Poland.
Croatia, Israel, Slovakia and host nation also make up the tournament, with the final held in Budapest on Saturday, August 5.
