Leading run scorer David Pearson aims to create a little more Lancashire League history tomorrow as he goes in to bat against RISHTON at Alexandra Meadows.

EAST LANCS’ veteran bats-man scored back-to-back centuries last weekend as is side beat Enfield and Nelson.

The second three-figure score of his ton-derful weekend was a career-highest 139 at Nelson and the 47-year-old, who is already past the 300-run mark for 2010, is now a member of the league’s 14,000-run club.

And if he could achieve the remarkable feat of a third successive century, it is believed he would be the first amateur in the history of the league to do so.

“David is batting really well this season,” said East Lancs captain Mark Bolton.

“I can’t speak too highly of him.”

Danny Chester makes his senior bow and batsman Phil Bolton returns to the side.

BURNLEY have only lost once this season and Steve Brunt’s men are a danger, especially with leg spinner Bharat Tripathi finding his range from the off with 20 wickets so far.

He goes up against CHURCH’S New Zealand professional Luke Woodcock in a good game at West End tomorrow.

Burnley fielded their former amateur Jon Clare last weekend as he recovers from injury – but he is back with Derbyshire now and key batsman Qasim Ali is also out.

NELSON professional Burton de Wett makes his debut as Colin Pemberton takes his men to Lowerhouse with just two points separating the sides.

That game pits leg spinner de Wett against the left-arm spin of Lowerhouse professional Aaron Heal, who looks the real deal this year for Charlie Cottam’s men.

COLNE have had a wretched start to 2010 with professional Anwar Ali delayed by a training camp and five defeats so far.

But Jeff Ellis’ men will look to put that record right tomorrow when they welcome BACUP to The Horsfield.

TODMORDEN have had a bad start to the season with just the opening day win over Accrington to cheer new skipper Simon Newbitt.

And ahead of tomorrow’s trip to Bacup Road for the game with RAWTENSTALL they have been dealt a blow with the news veteran spinner Ibra Ali may miss the rest of the season.

Rawtenstall are buoyed by last Sunday’s win over Ramsbottom but Vinny Hanson is without spinner Keith Roscoe.

RAMSBOTTOM welcome back captain Jon Fielding as they entertain Enfield at Acre Bottom.

Fielding missed last weekend’s shock loss at Rawtenstall due to work commitments.
