A ROSSENDALE racer wowed the crowds as he clocked the fastest time at a national karting competition.
Wesley Robinson, 31, flew round the Daytona Manchester track quicker than any other driver in the Vauxhall VXR Power Events Karting Challenge last week.
Wesley, from Bacup, was overjoyed with his lap time of 24.672 seconds. He said: “I couldn’t believe it when they told me. I knew I’d gone fast but I wasn’t aware it was that fast.”
Wesley will now spend the August bank holiday being trained to be a racing driver before taking part in a VXR race alongside top drivers including 2001 British Touring Car champion and TV presenter Jason Plato.
