JEROME ‘Lights Out’ Lawton showed just why he is so highly rated in the ABA English Schoolboy rankings with another impressive victory.
The Sandygate ABC fighter, ranked seventh in the country, was up against George Brennan at the Lifestyle Centre, Wythenshawe in Manchester.
It was a home show for Brennan who was fighting out of the prestigious Jimmy Eagan's Boxing Academy, but Lawton wasn’t fazed as he set about his taller opponent.
The Hambledon High School pupil dominanted the three round contest and rightly received an unanimous decision from the ringside judges.
“Jerome was awesome,” said coach Nik Tucker. “To fight someone in their own back yard and take an unanimous verdict takes some doing.”
Sandaygate hosts Fight Night at Burnley League on Friday.
