ACCRINGTON Stanley’s final match of the season away at Cheltenham was said to have been marred by crowd trouble.

Witnesses said a 15-year-old boy was ejected from the Whaddon Road stadium during the first half of Saturday’s 1-1 draw after having his shirt ripped in a skirmish in which he also suffered minor injuries.

His mother said she would lodge a formal complaint with police over the conduct of stewards at the ground.

Witnesses said a more major fight ensued in the second half after police intervened when Stanley fans tried to unfurl a large banner.

A number of fans then chose to leave the ground.
