EAST Lancashire legend David Pearson entered the Lancashire League’s 14,000-run club on Saturday as he scored yet another century to add to his personal collection.

The wicket-keeper batsman, who is also closing in on Ray Kelly’s record of 571 victims behind the stumps, made his latest ton in his side’s win over Enfield to become only the third man to enter that 14,000 club.

Pearson made exactly 100 in 166 balls with 14 fours before being the last man out as East Lancs posted 221-7.

Young opening batsman Mini Bhada impressed again as he hit 39 in a 116 opening stand with Pearson but the brakes were put on East Lancs by Zed Afzal who claimed 6-49 for Enfield.

In reply, Chris Maudsley top scored with 56 but spin star Paul Kelly claimed 5-38 and Aussie Nathan Rimmington collected three wickets on debut as the Blackburn side strolled to a 52-run win.
