JOHN Coleman has his sights set on securing Accrington Stanley’s highest ever Football League points total when they travel to Cheltenham on the final day of the season tomorrow.

Stanley currently have 60 points in League Two and need a victory to break the club record of 61, secured by revered former manager Walter Galbraith in Third Division North in 1954/55 – admittedly in an era when wins were worth two points rather than three.

The Reds have already comfortably surpassed their best points total since returning to the Football League – 51 in 2007/08.

“It would be smashing to break the record,” said Coleman.

“That would be a great achievement.”
