The Burnley squad report back for medical checks at Turf Moor tomorrow, with pre-season training then set to get into full swing.

The Clarets are still to receive concrete bids for their transfer-listed players, Gifton Noel-Williams, Danny Karbassiyoon, Micah Hyde and Duane Courtney, so the foursome will be reporting to pre-season.

In the first week, Cotterill admits the players will undertake plenty of running ahead of the 3pm friendly at Accrington's Fraser Eagle Stadium.

Cotterill said: "The players will be doing quite a bit of running in the first week. We are expecting all of them to come back in good shape, but we want to get then in great shape."

Despite much effort, a July 15 friendly against proposed Premiership opposition failed to materialise, so there is a 10-day wait before Cotterill's side face another run-out, at Gigg Lane against Bury on Tuesday, July 18, before they host Bolton Wanderers on Saturday, July 22.

Following the friendly clash against Bolton, the Clarets hold their annual open day when supporters have the opportunity to watch the squad train at close quarters.

The Clarets then fly out to Italy for a six-day training camp in Lake Garda, where they hope to play two games, although they are yet to be confirmed.

The new Championship campaign begins for Burnley on August 5 with an opening day clash at home to QPR.
