ACCRINGTON Stanley manager John Coleman is running the rule over former Chesterfield defender Ashley Foyle.

The promising young centre-back has joined the Reds for pre-season training and if he seizes the chance to impress over the next few weeks then Coleman will consider making him a contract offer.

"He's a young lad who was recommended to us and from what I've seen of him so far, he looks keen to impress," said Coleman.

"He will spend some time training with us and the plan is to have a look at him in some of our pre-season friendlies."

Coleman has already made two signings this summer after completing swoops for Sean Doherty and Julien N'Da.

But he is still hoping to add at least a couple more new faces to his squad as Stanley look to make an impact in League Two next season, and a new striker remains a top priority.

"I'd like to bring another two or three in if possible," said Coleman.

"We need to add another striker to the squad if we can."
