MANCHESTER City defender David Sommeil could find himself in hot water with the Football Association after he allegedly spat at Blackburn striker Paul Dickov during yesterday's feisty encounter at Ewood Park.

Sommeil became embroiled in what Rovers manager Mark Hughes described as 'an unsavoury incident' midway through the first half, and if caught on camera then the Frenchman is certain to be punished by English football's governing body.

The City full-back was also later involved in another of the game's flashpoints on the hour when he rolled over theatrically following a late challenge by Tugay, which resulted in a straight red card for the Blackburn midfielder, Hughes said: "I honestly didn't see that.

"I was trying to organise a couple of substitutions at the time, but I have since spoken to Tugay and he said he didn't catch him (Sommeil).

"But the player was not our favourite person at the time anyway because he was involved in an unsavoury incident with Paul Dickov in the first half.

"Paul showed real control to stop the situation escalating, with their player hardly covering himself in glory."

Tugay now faces a three-match ban, at the beginning of next season.
