Blackburn Rovers boss Hughes has played down speculation linking Chris Sutton with a return to the club this summer.
"I'm sure a lot of players will be linked with us," Hughes said.
"We're a top six side and we're in Europe so I'm sure a lot of players would want to play for us."
Sutton signed for Birmingham City from Celtic in January, but scored just once in 11 games as the Blues drifted towards relegation.
