JOHN Coleman would settle for a 1-0 win every week.

The Accrington Stanley manager admitted to a bout of nerves in his side's win over Cambridge United by a single goal on Saturday.

But the Reds boss knows more of the same would be enough to secure their promotion to the Football League as Conference champions.

"There's an old saying, 1-0s win league," he said.

"That could never be more the case than Saturday and we might need another 10 of them.

"Every game we play from now to the end of the season is going to be tough.

"If we can just dig in and grind out results, we will be okay.

"I was very nervous on the bench at the weekend, but in the second half we had a bit more guile about us, a bit more endeavour and enthusiasm.

"Cambridge had expended a lot of energy in the first half trying to close us down - which they did magnficently.

"I'm just grateful that Ian Craney kept his composure, went round the keeper and finished it."

He added: "We have a good character about the club and the team.

"The players have shown a great spirit and a never-say-die attitude and that will get you a long way.

"If we can do our job that will put us closer to trying to win what we want. It's the Holy Grail for us."
