YOUR next game in football is always your biggest. But they don't come much bigger than Cambridge United and Exeter for us. Especially at this stage of the season.

It is vital that you win your home games, and everyone will expect us to beat Cambridge on Saturday to lead in to our top versus second clash, live on Sky, at the Abbey Stadium a week on Monday.

That game will be the reverse of what we experienced before kick-off at Grays Athletic. Like that was a must-win game for us to stop Grays gaining further ground, Exeter are in a similar position. Especially with our game in hand on them.

We just have to make sure that we pick something up from that match.

But, first things first, we have to keep our unbeaten run going on Saturday preferably with a win.

We have a score to settle with Cambridge after our performance and result at their place in August.

Obviously, it was very early in the season and we were going through a funny situation with goalkeepers, which thankfully has since settled down.

We had brought Bertrand Bossu in for his one and only game, and he made an absolute howler for their first goal.

Since then, as teams, we have gone our seperate ways in the league and, although they have picked up a little bit of late at home, their away form is not so good.

Having said that, every team we play is going to raise their game with the chance to topple the leaders and end our unbeaten run.

I've read that a couple of managers think we are getting a little bit smug. But that couldn't be further from the truth.

We would never taken anything for granted because there is still a long, long way to go.

We've got ourselves into a fantastic position at the minute, but heaven forbid one or two defeats can easily change all that.

Hopefully we can boost our chances of success in the next week or two by adding to our squad.

That's something that is easier said than done because we need to find players who are as good as, if not better than what we've got, but anyone coming in at the moment wouldn't be guaranteed to play.

We haven't got strength in depth when it comes to numbers, but we've got 16 or so players who would be capable of playing in any team in this league.

But we still have to look for quality players. Phil Edwards might never have got a chance had it not been for Peter Cavanagh getting injured, so you just never know what might happen.
