WING wizard Wade Elliott is not surprised that Norwich are slowly turning their season around.

He just rues the timing of their recent revival!

City host the Clarets tomorrow with three straight wins under their belt to cushion what has been a bumpy ride since their relegation from the Premiership last season.

Boss Nigel Worthington had been under increasing pressure as the Canaries struggled for any consistency.

But following a stunning 3-1 win at Sheffield United on Boxing Day and with in-demand striker Dean Ashton punching his weight again - ending a nine-game barren run with four goals in two games - City are climbing back off the ropes.

And with Burnley also in knockout form following seven wins in 10 league games, including their hard-fought victory over Stoke 48 hours ago, Elliott believes Carrow Road could witness another Christmas cracker.

He said: "It was always going to turn around for Norwich sooner or later, purely because of the players they have.

"Right from when the fixtures first came out, we knew it would always be a tough game and I guess it just got tougher.

"They are in good form and we're in good form, so it should be a cracker."

Elliott earned the man of the match magnum of champagne following his barnstorming return to the starting line-up against Stoke.

Before then, the former Bournemouth winger had made just one start in five games as on-loan Southampton teenager Nathan Dyer stole the show before his sudden recall.

And reflecting on the Boxing Day victory, in which Elliott played a crucial supporting role in the build-up to Ade Akinbiyi's 14th goal of the season, the wide man feels the momentum gained by that win could carry Burnley through the tough Christmas schedule and keep them firmly in the play-off hunt.

""Beating Stoke was a great day for the club," he added. "We'd had nine days between games with plenty of time to prepare, so it was always going to be a big game and it was pleasing to do so well.

"The law of averages said that with so many ex-Stoke players in our squad, one of them was going to come up with a goal.

"And the way Ade has been playing this season it was typical he should be the one the chance fell to."

Elliott added: "The gaffer said in the run-up to that game that we had four tough matches in a week and he was going to need everyone involved.

"Hopefully that will be the case over the coming days because it's a massive, massive week.

"It is nice to have some momentum and if we can keep that going it will be a fruitful period and who knows where we'll be come the other side of Christmas?"
