UPBEAT John Coleman is demanding his Accrington Stanley men to improve their home form if they are to make a push towards the League Two play-off places.

The Stanley boss believes the spirit in his camp is just right for a promotion push – but he admits his Reds need to up the ante to keep their dream alive.

The Reds recorded an excellent 1-0 win at Shrewsbury Town on Saturday and Coleman wants to follow that up with another three points tonight when they face Barnet at the Crown Ground.

“We want to win, we want to try and win every game,” said Coleman.

“It was an excellent result at Shrewsbury on Saturday.

“Not many teams go there and win but if we don’t back that up with a result against Barnet, the weekend win counts for nothing.

“We are doing okay at the moment but I want more from the players, especially at home.

“We were beaten by Bury and that was disappointing and I want an improvement.

“Then again, maybe I am being slightly greedy.”

A win tonight will see Stanley hit the dizzy heights of sixth place in League Two and Coleman added: “The spirit is right.

“It reminds me of the year we won the Conference. We have a young team and they have a real expectation.

“But I want them to keep improving.”

Coleman must make do without his captain Andy Procter tonight.

Procter was sent off during the win over Shrewsbury but Coleman is philosophical.

“It gives someone else a chance to get into the team,” he said.

“We have a good little squad here and there are players waiting for their chance.”
