* Fulham's hopes of signing Basel forward Marco Streller appear to be over. The Cottagers were reporting to be planning a £6m bid for the Swiss international, but he has opted to remain in his homeland.

* Southampton are in talks with Falkirk after increasing their offer for Bairns midfielder Scott Arfield to £400,000 rising to £1m with add-ons. Preston and Huddersfield are also interested.
* Blackpool have had a £70,000 bid for Motherwell defender Steven Saunders turned down, with the Scottish Premier League club wanting £500,000 for the 18-year-old.
