BLACKBURN Rovers have completed the signing of Turkish international midfielder Yildiray Basturk from German club Stuttgart.
The 31-year-old was at Rovers' Brockhall training ground yesterday and has now cut all ties with Stuttgart to join Blackburn initially until the end of the season, with a view to an extended deal.
Attacking midfielder Basturk, who may also be able to play just behind a lone striker in the David Dunn mould, was a part of the Bayer Leverkusen side that faced Michel Salgado's Real Madrid in the 2002 Champions League final as well as featuring in the Turkey side that finished third at the World Cup in the same year.
Born in Germany, he has 49 caps for Turkey and had a spell playing alongside Rovers centre back Chris Samba at Hertha Berlin.
He moved on to Stuttgart but did not feature in their Champions League campaign this season.
