UPDATED SOUTH Yorkshire referee Craig Pawson will carry out a 10.30am pitch inspection tomorrow to determine whether Accrington Stanley's FA Cup second round tie at home to Barnet can go ahead.
The Reds have shelled out a significant amount of money to install extra drains today in an attempt to solve the problems that have seen a number of games called off because of wet weather in the last 12 months - including Tuesday's fixture against Macclesfield Town.
Chief executive Rob Heys said: “We have brought in contractors who have done work at Ewood Park, Anfield and Goodison Park.
"It will cost a few thousand, so we’ve not tried to do it cheap and cheerfully.
"We’re optimistic but because we’ve had the work done we will ask the referee to arrive as early as he can to have a look at it.
"The game was called off on Tuesday before most people had set off, but we are mindful that we are playing Barnet tomorrow and people will be travelling."
