STEVEN Caldwell has such faith in goalkeeper Brian Jensen he believes he can be “unbeatable”, and hopes today’s East Lancashire derby proves to be one of those games.

Danish stopper Jensen will make his 250th Burnley appearance and 300th in English football when the Clarets and Blackburn Rovers meet in the top division for the first time in 43 years.

Jensen has already kept a shut-out in this fiercely contested Lancashire hotpot.

And Caldwell is banking on a repeat performance to celebrate a joint milestone in style.

“He’s a phenomenal goalkeeper. He has these games where I honestly think he's unbeatable.

"And whether he is or not it doesn't matter, when you’ve got that feeling it’s a great thing to have with your goalie behind you,” said the Clarets captain.

“He proved it last season on a few occasions and he’s already had some unbelievable games this season.

"I’m sure when he’s called upon he more often than not gets us out of sticky situations.

“Confidence is a phenomenal thing and improves you so much, and Beasty’s on a crest of a wave right now.

“I hope that continues because I think he deserves it.

"He works extremely hard and even though he's a little bit older now I think he’s reaping the benefits for all his hard work.

“He’s doing really well, but I hope he doesn't have a save to make!

“Maybe that’s wishful thinking, but if we defend really well as a team and limit the saves he has to make we've got a tremendous chance.

“I always feel with our quality going forward we can cut any team open on our day.

"So it’s up to me as captain and defender to keep things tight at the back.”

and then we will have three or four moments at least in the match where we get a pass and movement going and hopefully we can take the chances.”
