Barnoldswick Town’s League Challenge Cup tie at Ashton started 12 minutes late due to an assistant referee not turning up.
It started off with both teams sparring with each other although clear chances were few and far between.
It was Ashton who broke the deadlock on 79 minutes, a great ball over the Town defence put their forward in on Billy Carrington’s goal, he made no mistake.
A minute later it could have been 2-0, a great block by Russell Clarke rebounded to an Ashton forward who shot against the post.
