DARWEN CC teenager Alex Davies received the “Cedric Rhoades Player of the Season” Award for 2009 at the Lancashire Cricket Board (LCB) Development of Excellence presentation evening.
All-rounder Davies, 15, a student at Blackburn’s Queen Elizabeth Grammar School, bats at number three and keeps wicket for Lancashire’s U15s and was this year selected for England’s U15s as a batsman only.
At the awards, Clitheroe CC all-rounder Jack Dewhurst was also celebrated for being named player of the month for July.
Dewhurst, 16, plays for Lancashire’s U17s and is a member of the ECB’s EPD U16s Development squad.
Trophies were presented to players who have achieved significant milestones during the season including centuries, five-wicket hauls, hat-tricks and outstanding wicket-keeping displays.
