OWEN Coyle could today make defender Andre Bikey his seventh summer signing.
Burnley are reported to have agreed a £2.8million fee with Reading for the powerful Cameroon international and could finalise the move before tomorrow’s opener at Stoke City.
However, with Bikey still to serve two games of a five-match ban following his play-off semi-final red card against the Clarets, time is not of the essence. And when questioned about the 24-year-old, boss Coyle was giving little away: “He’s one of a number of players we’ve made enquiries about.
“It’s obviously in the public domain for whatever reason but we’ll see where it goes.
“If I was to talk about everyone I’ve spoken to in the last week or so then we’d be here all day.
“I’m always reluctant to speak about other team’s players, but I think it’s fair enough to say I believe (Bikey) is a very gifted player; loads of pace, loads of power.
“I can’t really say too much more on that.”
