SAM Allardyce could yet be tempted to make a late attempt to sign Kenwyne Jones from Sunderland, should Peter Crouch’s move to the Black Cats be completed.
Jones has that Premier League experience Blackburn Rovers have desperately been searching for, but Rovers are yet to make any official enquiries and will wait until Crouch’s future has been sorted.
Valencia striker Nicola Zigic is understood not to be one of the foreign strikers that Rovers have already had negotiations with agents with.
Meanwhile Allardyce has not made any approach to bring Newcastle’s Alan Smith to Ewood on a season-long loan.
