BURNLEY manager Owen Coyle has welcomed the capture of young defender Brian Easton.
Scotland Under 21 international Easton completed his move from Hamilton Academical yesterday, signing a three-year deal for £350,000 plus add-ons.
Coyle said: “I’m delighted to get him in. He’s a young lad with, I think, a big future.
"He’s been a first team regular for the last three or four years now, he's a Scotland U21 international, he can play left back or left centre back.
“He’s got that scope, so what it does it adds real competition in the back line, and that’s what I’ve been trying to do.
“I’ve been trying to make sure we’ve got maybe two players for each position, and he covers us on two fronts there.
“We’ll continue to work with him and hopefully make him better, the same as the ones we’ve signed; young players who we believe have an opportunity.
“They’re not the finished article, we know that, but we think that by working with them we can improve them, and if we’re doing that we’re improving the standard of the football club, and that’s what we’re trying to build.”
