BRIAN Easton could be unveiled as Burnley’s fourth summer signing today, after the Clarets yesterday agreed an undisclosed fee with Hamilton Academical for the young defender.

The Scottish Premier League side last week rejected a £300,000 bid.

But, although I understand Burnley boss Owen Coyle was not prepared to increase the initial cash offer, Hamilton are likely to have been tempted by add-ons that could take the total amount to around £600,000.

Scotland Under 21 international Easton could make his debut as early as tonight, when the Clarets take on Morecambe at Christie Park.

If the deal doesn’t go through in time, the 21-year-old, who has made 102 league appearances for the Accies, would instead join up with his new Burnley team-mates for their pre-season tour of America.
