COUNCIL officers are in talks with Burnley Football Club over parking arrangements for the new Premier League season.

Thousands more fans are expected in the town for home games next season, particularly the first clash at Turf Moor against Manchester United on August 19.

But there are fears that parking around the stadium may struggle to cope with the volume of people.

Coun Charlie Briggs, Burnley council’s executive member with responsibility for parking, said: “Talks are ongoing between the club and the council.”
