BURNLEY go into their Championship play-off semi-final first leg against Reading without Wade Elliott.

The winger, who has performed well in a central midfield position in recent weeks, has failed to recover from the knock which forced him off in last Sunday's 4-0 win over Bristol City and is replaced by Joey Gudjonsson.

Clarke Carlisle also limped off in that game, but has been passed fit to retain his place in central defence alongside captain Steven Caldwell.

There is a change in defence, however, as Michael Duff makes his first start in over two months after Rhys Williams' emergency loan deal from Middlesbrough expired.
