SKIPPER Peter Cavanagh returns to the Accrington Stanley line-up as the Reds aim to mathematically secure their League Two survival against Lincoln City this afternoon.

A win at the Fraser Eagle Stadium, coupled with Chester City failing to take three points at Notts County, will ensure safety for Stanley.

That would be a major boost for boss John Coleman ahead of the Easter programme.

Cavanagh’s timely return means Colin Murdock drops to the bench with Phil Edwards moving back to the centre of defence.

There was another late change as well with Chris Turner suffering an injury in the warm-up and he was replaced just before kick-off by Bobby Grant.

They were the only two changes for Stanley against an Imps side who feature Romanian Adrian Patulea in attack. The striker ran around Sincil Bank with his wife on his back in an effort to win a contract.

Imps’ boss Peter Jackson obliged - and Patulea has rewarded him with 10 goals this season.
