BURNLEY have won the Press Association Sport Best Matchday Programme award at the 2009 Football League Awards.
The club received the award at a gala dinner at Grosvenor House, Park Lane on Sunday in front of more than 800 attendees from clubs, sponsors and the football industry.
The ‘Claret and You’ matchday programme is designed as more of a magazine, rather than a traditional programme.
The content includes features from the dressing room and boardroom and a whole host of national journalists happy to contribute to columns in the programme free of charge.
The judging panel commented that Burnley’s programme is “a top quality product, from the front cover right the way through to the last page.”
Editor Darren Bentley said: “The fans have enjoyed reading it, sales have gone well and it’s been a pleasure working with a great design team and some excellent contributors and it’s great to get this award.”
