ROVERS' large away support called for Paul Ince's head at the JJB Stadium this afternoon as they crashed 3-0 at Wigan Athletic.

Rovers stay second from bottom in the Premier League but, as the gap between them and safety continues to grow, the Blackburn boss will be fearing for his future.

Goals from Emile Heskey, Antonio Valencia and Lee Cattermole secured a comfortable win for Steve Bruce's men and condemned Rovers to a 11th game without a win.

David Dunn's half time introduction breathed new life into Rovers as they finally started to show some fight.

Brett Emerton's inswinging free-kick was headed towards his own goal by Michael Brown on 63 minutes, with Chris Kirkland doing well to palm the ball wide.

Dunn then saw a 25-yard strike well saved by Kirkland.

The game was effectively ended as a contest on 77 when Valencia's deflected cross fell to an unmarked Cattermole on the left of the area and he steered home Wigan's third.

Emile Heskey audaciously flicked Wigan ahead on 10 minutes after Antonio Valencia had skinned Stephen Warnock on the right and sent a low cross into the England man.

The lead was doubled two minutes later when Valencia again eased past Warnock and this time fired home himself from the edge of the area.
