ACCRINGTON Stanley boss John Coleman has swooped to add Blackburn Rovers youngster Rostyn Griffiths to his squad and has not ruled out further market moves.

Coleman has recruited Griffths for a month following the opening of the loan transfer window after he scored for the Reds reserves last week.

The 20-year-old Australian-born midfielder has come through the youth system at Ewood Park and played 12 games in the Scottish Premier League on loan with Gretna at the end of last season.

“He is used to playing senior football, which always helps,” said Coleman.

“He’s got a bit about him. He’s a good size for a midfield player and he’s comfortable on the ball.

“He will have another game in the reserves today and then go straight into the squad for Saturday.”

Coleman, who sends a reserve side to Tranmere Rovers this afternoon, also confirmed that he is still looking for “one or two more” with a striker thought to be top of his wanted list.

Meanwhile, defender Colin Murdock will need to prove his fitness in training by the end of the week if he is to challenge for a return to action against Notts County at the Fraser Eagle Stadium on Saturday.

The former Northern Ireland international has missed the last two games with a thigh injury.
