IT’S been a busy few months for Blackburn Jump UK Trampoling Club both home and abroad.

Head coach Sarah Todd came out of retirement to compete in the Inter-national Baltic Cup along with club-mate Jon Burns.

Despite not competing for more than 10 years and having to drop out from the individual events due to a minor injury, Todd finished a creditable 23rd place in the ladies section.

Burns, who is the current Lancashire under 19s schools champion, was making his international debut and broke in to the top 20, finishing 19th in the mixed group.

Both gymnasts took part in the Synchronised competition with partners from German clubs.

The pair were competing against opponents from Germany, Holland, Austria, Denmark and Sweden.

Burns, who is currently in his last year at Runshaw college, was one of two Jump UK gymnasts who took part in a National grade competition held at Crosby Leisure Centre in Liverpool and both came away with podium finishes.

In the under 15 boys section, Mark Wade impressed to finish in second place while Burns was third in the men’s event.

This event saw the end of the current structure with all the clubs gymnasts now working toward a new one starting in September.

Eight of the club members will be attending a training camp in Hamburg during August.

And the club was well represented at the annual Stockport Trampolining Competition held at Priestnall Leisure Centre.

In the Novice section, Chelsea Cowen finished 10th, Rachel Hulme 11th and Shannan Cowen 16th and took third place in the team event.

It was an impressive display from the girls who are all aged under 10 years old and show they have a good future in the sport after competing against much older gymnasts at this event. In the Intermediate group level, Sophie Smith finished in third place with younger sister Chloe Smith a close fourth place.

At the advanced group level, Jon Burns came ninth, Mark Wade 10th with Rebecca Ironfield 14th. All three made up a mixed team finishing in a good fourth place.

The club meets at St Bedes Sports College on Saturday mornings and is part of a local School, Club sports partnership prov-iding the area with a top class facility and development program.

The club is a registered British Gymnastics facility with highly qualified coaching staff.

Day sessions have been programmed during the summer holidays on Monday and Wednesday, August 11-13 11th at St Bedes Sports College.

Places are by enrolment only as they will fill up quickly due to tramp-olining being very popular in the area.
