Ribblesdale Wanderers are one match away from lifting the PM & M Ramsbottom Cup for the first time since 2000.

But the identity of their final opponents at Barnoldswick on August 3 is unknown.

Wanderers, recovering from a senior division defeat to Whalley 24 hours earlier, had professional Joe Scuderi largely to thank for steering them to victory against 2002, 2003 and 2004 winners Read.

Scuderi took 4-38 from eight overs as the home side only amassed 132 in 39 overs. Warren Eastham top scored with 33.

Scuderi then hit 37 out of 133 while Martin Peel remained unbeaten at the end of the six wickets win with 39.

The second semi-final between Settle and Padiham was washed out and the sides will try again in two weeks time.

Division one leaders Burnley Belvedere won’t be achieving a league and Lawrenson Cup double.

In a gripping semi-final, Cherry Tree won by two runs and now play Ribblesdale or Brinscall in the final.

Great Harwood remain top of the table in the Veka Ribblesdale League thanks to a 10 wicket win over Clitheroe.

On a day badly affected by the rain, Clitheroe made 95-9 leaving Harwood a revised target of 80 which they passed with ease.

Padiham stay tight on the leaders’ heels after a 110 run win against champions Blackburn Northern.

Kashif Siddique (64) and Anthony Hall (63*) helped the visitors to 249-8 before Northern limped to 139.

Read warmed up for their cup match with a 31-run success against Cherry Tree. Jon Harvey led the way with 103 not out from Read’s total of 191-3.

Whalley beat Ribblesdale Wanderers by six wickets thanks to Sathish Rajagapal.

He smashed 81 not out from 111-4 after Whalley were set 109 from 30 overs.

All the remaining games were claimed by the thunderstorms.
