Ramsbottom United will begin their quest for honours in Vodkat League Division One by taking on Blackpool-based Squires Gate at the Riverside Ground on August 9.
New boss Andy Feeley will have his work cut out from the opening day as the Rams have failed to beat Squires Gate in their last four attempts at the Riverside – having drawn two and lost two.
The Rams’ last victory against Gate came on March 27, 2007 when a solitary goal by Steve Mainwaring was enough to take the points.
The following week, the Rams will be on home soil again as they face Hallam FC in the FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round.
