Zeki Amdouni is hoping to hand Burnley a fitness boost ahead of tomorrow's game at Cardiff.
The forward has been sidelined with an ankle injury he sustained at Watford last month, in which he scored the second goal in a 4-0 win but was forced off just after the hour.
But new head coach Fabio Celestini says there has been positive progress in the build-up to a trip to South Wales, and Amdouni could come back into contention.
"I think he's available," said Celestini.
"We want to see the reaction and talk with him but today was not a big training (session). We will have to see tomorrow, but it's positive."
But Amdouni is so far the only absentee close to a comeback before the international break, with Armando Broja and Bashir Humphreys still ruled out.
"We will have to see. We have missed players," Celestini added.
"I think Broja is more long-term. Humphreys too needs a couple of weeks.
"I think we won't receive too many players back after the international break.
"But Humphreys is very close, I don't know if it will be the end of the month but today he was smiling and happy and feeling great.
"I hope we can have Humphreys by the end of the month or maybe at the beginning of December, but he's not so far."
