Blackburn Rovers midfielder Sam Morsy will face a one-match ban if he's booked at Portsmouth.
The tough-tackling midfielder looks likely to miss a game at some stage after collecting four yellow cards in five starts for Rovers.
Morsy will be suspended when he hits five yellow cards, with the cut-off not until after the 19th matchday of the Championship season.
Saturday's trip to Fratton Park will be the eighth game of the campaign, with a further 11 games to navigate for the 35-year-old. That marker will then move after Rovers' trip to Bolton Wanderers on December 5.
Morsy has been prolific with cards throughout his career, collecting more than 100 throughout his playing days. The combative nature means cards are always likely to add up in the centre of the park.
The maximum number of bookings is then 10 before matchday 37. Anyone who hits that threshold faces a two-game suspension. 15 yellow cards then trigger a three-match ban before the end of the season.
Todd Cantwell, Adam Forshaw, Sean McLoughlin and Harry Pickering are all on two apiece and so have plenty of wiggle room in the coming matches.
