Lancaster City FC has spoken of its disappointment after vandals left smashed glass bottles strewn across its ground, just weeks after the pitch was damaged by unauthorised visitors.
The Northern Premier League club said broken glass was discovered on Monday both on the pitch and around the dugouts, creating what it described as a dangerous situation for players, coaches, volunteers and spectators.
In a statement shared online, Lancaster City FC said it was "extremely disappointed and frustrated" by the incident.
Club officials said the discovery follows recent problems with people entering the ground without permission and causing damage to the playing surface.
The club said significant time and effort go into maintaining its facilities and ensuring they remain a safe environment for everyone who uses them.
Lancaster City FC added it is committed to being a positive part of the local community and wants the ground to be somewhere residents can be proud of.

However, the club warned that incidents of vandalism make that goal increasingly difficult to achieve.
It has now appealed to the public to help protect the ground and report anyone seen entering the site without permission or causing damage.
The club said: "This is your community club, and we need the community's help to look after it."
