Blackburn Rovers are expected to be active in the transfer market with multiple additions planned in the final 36 hours of the transfer window.
So far, only Jayden Fevrier and Sam Morsy have signed, leaving Tony Mowbray's squad desperately short after a spate of injuries.
Rovers were without nine first-team players against Queens Park Rangers, underlining a lack of squad depth. Some are hoped to be short-term absences but they had only three senior outfield player on the bench and that proved costly.
Plenty of names have been linked with the transfer window entering its last 36 hours. Of those, right-back Gady Beyuku has been credibly linked by Italian media and Lancashire Telegraph understands that is a deal the club are pursuing.
Beyuku, aged 20, would provide cover and competition for Ryan Alebiosu. Matty Litherland is the only recognised cover for the star defender at present and is injured.
The French youth international made 32 appearances for the Serie B side, scoring and assisting once. He is an attacking right-sided player who has also played on the wing previously in his young career.
Any deal is reported to be permanent or a loan with an obligation to buy. Rovers have two ESC slots available after Balazs Toth and Moussa Baradji played enough minutes to convert to full GBE permits in 2025/26.
Axel Henriksson and Augustus Kargbo occupy Rovers' other two places. Despite leaving the club on loan, Henriksson still takes up a space as they hold his registration with the governing bodies.
New rules introduced this summer mean only players aged 23 and under are now eligible for ESC slots. That has prevented Rovers from exploring lesser-scoured leagues for older players.
Rovers are known to be in the market for forward players. Mowbray has repeatedly spoken about acquiring more players with 'magic in their boots'.
Defensive cover has not been ruled out either after the loan departures of Connor O'Riordan and George Pratt. Hayden Carter and Scott Wharton's injuries, plus the long-term absence of Lewis Miller, leave Tom Atcheson and Sean McLoughlin as Rovers' only senior defenders.
Balazs Toth remains up in the air ahead of transfer deadline day. Celtic's interest had cooled after they missed out on Champions League qualification but they have ramped their interest back up ahead of the cut-off.
Sidnei Tavares will leave before 11pm on Tuesday. His loan deal to join Polish side Wisla Plock has been finalised, with just official confirmation to follow.
His exit will leave Rovers with 23 senior players who would need to be registered with the EFL. Miller is included in that total and could reasonably be left out as he's unlikely to be match fit before January anyway.
Any players Under-21 do not have to be registered, unless they are on loan. Then they must be named in the squad regardless of age.
The cut-off for Rovers to register any new players for the trip to Lincoln City was 12pm on Monday. Teams playing on Wednesday have an extra 24 hours.
