Burnley have terminated their sponsorship agreement with Finotive on the eve of the new season.
The Clarets announced in July that Finotive One, described as a "global trading ecosystem", would have their logo featured on the club's matchday shirts and training gear.
However, speculation grew on Thursday that Burnley could be moving to a new sponsor after the Finotive logo was removed from Sky Sports' graphics for the Championship opener against West Ham United on Sunday.
The branding also appeared to be removed from the players' training gear based on pictures posted to social media.
Burnley's new home and away kits both featured the Finotive logo. The latter, designed by co-owner JJ Watt, had been praised as one of the best in years by supporters.
An official statement read: "Burnley Football Club is disappointed to confirm that its agreement with Finotive has been terminated.
"We have acted decisively to protect the club’s interests, and those of our supporters, while ensuring preparations for the new season continue uninterrupted, both on and off the pitch."
Vertu have been confirmed as the new shirt sponsor for the 2026/27 campaign. The club's partnership with the automotive retailer began in 2022/23.
Supporters who had previously purchased a 2026/27 replica shirt can claim a full refund, exchange their shirt for a replacement featuring the Vertu branding, or have the Vertu branding applied to their existing shirt free of charge.
Chairman Alan Pace told the club site: “We are delighted to welcome Vertu as Burnley Football Club’s new Official Front of Shirt Principal Partner.
"Vertu has been a valued and trusted partner of the club, and this new relationship is a natural next step for two organisations that share a commitment to ambition, innovation and long-term success.
“From our very first conversations, it was clear there was a shared vision for what this new partnership could achieve, and we look forward to working even more closely together and creating exciting new opportunities for our supporters throughout the season.”
