Stanley have announced the signing of midfielder Stefan Mols from Tamworth on a one-year deal.
Mols is a product of Rovers' Academy and signed his first professional deal in January 2017.
His only appearance for the first team came in a Vertu Trophy tie against Bury later that year, coming off the bench to replace Craig Conway.
Mols also had a spell on loan at Spanish club Intercity and was released at the end of his deal in the summer of 2021.
The 27-year-old had a two-year spell at Warrington Town before heading to Curzon Ashton, where he scored 23 goals in the National League North.
A move to Tamworth followed and he chipped in with 14 goal contributions across 42 games in the National League.
"Stefan came to our attention when we were watching Curzon Ashton, looking at Devon Matthews and Isaac Sinclair," manager John Doolan told the club site.
"Stefan always stood out in the games, he caught me eye - we took Devon and Isaac, and we did get offered Stefan, but it wasn't a position we needed to fill at that time.
"Stefan ended up signing for Tamworth and I kept tabs on him, he did really well there.
"He scored 14 goals and made a number of assists, so I knew it was the right time - it would be a good progression for him and he would be a good addition to our squad."
Mols becomes the Reds' third signing of the summer after defensive duo Joe Anderson and Tom Moore arrived from Barrow and Southport respectively.
"I loved my time at Blackburn, I learnt a lot, but it got to a point where I needed to move on and play men's football," he added. "I made the decision to drop down the leagues.
"The last four or five years have been working my way up to play as high as I can, I have played a lot of games in non-league, and have gained a lot of experience.
"Last season, from Christmas I kicked on and started playing like I know I can, and the goals and performances followed. I was pleased with how the season went and that's got me to where I am now.
"I am a hard-worker, that's a foundation for me. I love to drive forward, create chances, be part of intricate play to open up a defence, and chip in with goals and assists when I can.
"It would mean a lot to play in the EFL. It has been a long five years working my way from the Northern Premier League, to the National League North, to the National League, and now to League Two.
"I want to grab the opportunity with both hands and help push Accrington up the table. As soon as I heard the interest, it was a no-brainer for me."
