Morecambe boss Jim Bentley says he "felt a bit sick" after his side fell at home to Hartlepool.
Speaking after the 3-2 defeat at the Mazuma Stadium in which Morecambe led twice, Bentley couldn't hide his disappointed with the result.
"I feel a bit sick, a bit gutted, frustrated," he said.
"We just didn't didn't defend two moments well enough, and that was the same story in the second half tonight."
Morecambe led first through captain Gwion Edwards before the visitors responded, and then again thanks to talisman Jack Nolan.
However, Hartlepool applied to pressure as Alex Reid bagged a brace to claim all three points for his side.
For Bentley, the performance bore similarities to their 3-2 defeat to Yeovil Town at the weekend.
"There's a pattern, I've spoken to the players about this," he said.
"One of the goals against Yeovil was exactly the same, we just pull off all of our defenders and he [Reid] was free as a bird, six or seven yards out."
The result means Morecambe now sit in the penultimate 23rd place, six points from safety with six games left to play.
Despite the precarious position they find themselves in, Bentley was reluctant to criticise the effort on display from his players.
"They've given it their all, I feel a bit sorry for them.
"They have represented the shirt in the right manner for me but we didn't get the result, so I'm gutted for them and more so for the fans.
Morecambe what is arguably their best chance to claim three points on Saturday, when they take on 18th placed Aldershot, who have suffer seven consecutive defeats.
"We're playing an Aldershot team that's not in great form, so we need the crowd behind us again," said Bentley.
"We're obviously looking for a favour elsewhere, we have a couple of teams in and around us so it's a big match for us."

Morecambe's defeat came on the evening the club announced it had discovered a week-old winding up petition, but Bentley did not believe the noise would affect him or his side.
"I've had that for years," he said.
"[The club] does need stripping back, structure put in place, etc...
"But for now I'm not particularly worried about it, all I'm worried about is the next game."
