Slazenger Padel Club Blackburn has celebrated a busy first week after the launch of its new indoor venue which opened on January 31.
The town’s first dedicated padel facility welcomed players onto its new courts, marking a major moment for local sport and bringing one of the UK’s fastest-growing activities to Blackburn for the first time.
The opening weekend drew large numbers of visitors, with staff pleased by the strong early support from players of all ages and abilities.

The club said the positive response shows there is already a clear demand for the sport in the area.
General manager, Beth Hoyle, said: “It was an incredibly busy weekend and great to see everyone come down and play.
"We had a fantastic turnout across both days.
“The feedback from players and spectators was overwhelmingly positive. People loved the energy, the new facilities, and the chance to be part of something fresh for the local sports community.”
She added: “The atmosphere was lively, friendly and full of excitement for what’s to come at Slazenger Padel.”
The venue is now fully open and offers regular sessions for new and experienced players.
It boasts nine padel courts, two pickleball courts, changing rooms, a bar and warm up area.
Slazenger Padel Club Blackburn is located in Haslingden Road, Blackburn.
